Hiking, Biking, Fishing... Oh My!

There are hundreds of great hiking trails located in our area, many are bike and dog friendly. For an extensive list of options, we recommend downloading at least one of the apps 'All Trails', 'Gaia' or 'trail forks' which will give you all the information on conditions, locations, trailheads, lengths, elevation gain, etc. There are Creeks, Rivers, and Lakes that can all be fished with a valid state fishing license. If you do not have one, you can obtain a license in Montrose, Gunnison, or at Newberry's store in Cimarron. There are many locations to choose, below are a couple of our favorites.

These lakes are open and available for guests of Arrowhead to fish. Call Outreach for a fishing permit. Access is through the gates across from the Lodge. Please close and tie chain back up once you are through to help keep horses in their fields. The lower lake is stocked and is great catching. Limit is 3 fish per person per day. If you catch any suckers, do not throw them back, do not leave them on the shore line. Appropriately dispose of them in the compactor once they are dead. The upper lake is catch and release only.
